Clean contact drill
Setup
- Use a mid-iron (7–8 iron)
- Tee the ball very low or place it directly on the mat
- Alignment neutral, stance shoulder-width
What to do
- Make 50–70% swings
2. Place some grass (any soft object will do) in front of the ball
3. Focus on brushing the mat after the ball
4.Hold your finish for 2 seconds
What it should feel like
- Solid, compressed strike
- No vibration through the hands
- Balanced finish
If it’s not working
- Thin shots: Slow the swing down, feel weight slightly left at impact
- Fat shots: Narrow stance and feel chest staying over the ball
- Inconsistent contact: Shorten the swing and rebuild tempo
